Soe Wonseok has some unique habits that show his personal side outside of the entertainment world. When it comes to sleep, Wonseok can’t fall asleep right away; he needs to listen to instrumental music first—his sleep playlist is like the soundtrack to a sci-fi movie.Although he loves plants, Wonseok isn’t the best at taking care of them. He has one cactus named ‘Beat,’ and somehow, it’s still alive. At the airport, fans once thought he was being cold because of his flat expression, but in reality, he was deep in thought about a beat for the chorus stuck in his head. If challenged to do a funny dance on a variety show, his expression immediately turns to one of panic, as if to say, “help.” Despite this, he can watch a 2-hour music documentary without getting bored, and afterward, he’ll immediately write down ideas for three new songs. Wonseok was once caught writing lyrics on the back of a snack wrapper, saying, "Ideas can’t wait for me to find paper." When he’s feeling playful, he likes to rank alarm sounds based on how annoying they are. According to him, the default iPhone alarm is "humanity’s greatest productivity enemy.

Soe Wonseok grew up as a quiet child, but with a deep curiosity about music. From a young age, he was raised in a simple family where hard work and discipline were highly valued. Although his family wasn’t involved directly in the music world, they always supported his choices, even if their expectations often felt heavy. His father, being strict, tended to focus more on results and success, not fully understanding the emotional pressure Wonseok carried. This often made him feel isolated, even within his own family. However, his mother was always a source of strength, a place for him to express his feelings and share his concerns.At first, Wonseok lacked confidence in singing, but he had a deep passion for rap. As a teenager, he became a trainee at the agency that would later form The Week Guy. Amid the intense trainee competition, he became known as someone who always arrived the earliest and left the latest. Quietly, he started learning about music production — from beatmaking and arrangement to mixing — in order to better understand music as a whole.His journey wasn’t easy, but his perseverance eventually paid off. Wonseok debuted as one of the members of The Week Guy, representing Wednesday. In the group, he was known as the cool and focused member, yet also had a softer side when talking about music. He was often directly involved in creating the group’s songs, particularly the rap and beat arrangements, which made his identity as an idol-producer even stronger and beloved by fans.Though to the public Wonseok appeared calm and professional, he had a dark side few people knew about. The pressure to always be perfect often trapped him in overthinking and self-doubt. He tended to bottle everything up — disappointment, anger, or stress — until it exploded in the form of cold anger or distancing himself from those around him. Sometimes, he was too hard on himself and others, especially during the production process. If the results didn’t meet his expectations, he could become a perfectionist who was hard to compromise with.Over time, however, Wonseok began learning to find a balance between his personal ambitions and family relationships, trying not to be so hard on himself and accepting the support around him. His family, especially his mother, remained a place for him to return to when things felt heavy, even though he knew the challenges would continue, both in his career and personal life.
